Ratanhiawurzel
Ratanhiae radix, rhatany root.
Rhatany root consists of the dried root of Krameria triandra Ruíz et Pavón [Fam. Krameriacaceae], as well as its preparations in effective dosage.
The drug contains at least 10 percent tannins.
Topical treatment of mild inflammations of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa.

In very rare cases, allergic reactions of the mucous membranes may occur.

Unless otherwise prescribed:
About 1 g comminuted drug in 1 cup of water as a decoction or 5 - 10 drops of rhatany tincture in 1 glass of water, 2 - 3 times daily; Undiluted rhatany tincture painted on the affected surface 2 - 3 times daily; equivalent preparations. Mode of Administration Comminuted herb for decoctions and other galenical preparations for topical application.
