Pimpinellae radix, pimpinella root.
Pimpinella root consists of the dried rhizomes and roots of Pimpinella saxifraga L. s.l. and/or P. major (L.) Hudson s.l. [Fam. Apiaceae], as well as its preparations in effective dosage.
The drug contains essential oil and saponins.
Catarrhs of the upper respiratory tract.
Unless otherwise prescribed:
6 - 12 g drug; 6 - 12 g pimpinel tincture (1:5); equivalent preparations. Mode of Administration Comminuted herb for teas and other galenical preparations for internal use.
