Pruni spinosae fructus, blackthorn fruit, sloe berry.

Composition of Drug

Blackthorn fruit consists of the fresh or dried, ripe fruit of Prunus spinosa L. [Fam. Rosaceae], as well as its preparations in effective dosage.

The drug contains tannins.

Uses

Mild inflammations of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa.

Daily dosage:

2 - 4 g drug; equivalent preparations. Mode of Administration Comminuted herb for teas and other galenical preparations for mouth rinses.
